A man driving a pickup truck hit a man riding a scooter.  The scooter rider had blood in his eye.

He also had bruising around his eye.  He took photos of the blood and bruising.  I sent these photos to the claims adjuster.

He also had pain in his shoulder, lower back, neck and knee pain.

The crash happened in North Miami Beach, Florida.  Crawford & Company handled the claim for the company that owned the pickup truck.

I represented the scooter rider.  We settled for $52,000.

Scooter Rider Hit by Car in Intersection Gets $35,000 for Broken Leg

 

A scooter rider got a $35,000 settlement after a driver failed to yield the right of way in an intersection and hit him.  The accident happened in Miami Lakes, Florida.

The scooter rider suffered a upper leg (femur) fracture.  United Auto Insurance Company (UAIG) insured the careless driver.

GEICO insured the owner of the car that caused the accident.

Bicyclist Hit by Car in Intersection Gets $33,000 Settlement for Knee Injury

A bike rider hit by a car got a $33,000 settlement for a tibial plateau fracture and meniscus tear.  The bicyclist did not need surgery.

Passenger in Car Hit by Drunk Driver in Intersection Gets $25,000

Check out a settlement where a passenger in a car got $25,000 after a drunk driver hit her in an intersection.  It happened in Miami, Florida.

Her injuries included back pain and leg pain.  State Farm insured the car whose driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol (“DUI”).

Windhaven Insurance insured the driver of car that the passenger was in (“host car”).  However, the driver was an excluded driver on the policy.

Windhaven denied bodily injury (“BI”) liability insurance coverage.  However, Windhaven paid $10,000 of the passenger’s hospital bill from the host car’s personal injury protection (“PIP”) insurance coverage.

Windhaven paid these PIP benefits because the passenger didn’t own a car in Florida, or live with a relative who owned a car in Florida.

Driver Gets $20,000 Settlement for Intersection Accident

Henry (not real name) was in a car that was T-boned by another car at an intersection in Miami-Dade County, Florida.  The other driver received a ticket for running the red light.

After the accident, he had knee pain.  He had an MRI of his knee.  It revealed joint effusion (water on the knee).  Henry also claimed that the accident caused or aggravated a two herniated discs in his lower back.

Progressive Insurance paid the bodily injury (“BI”) liability insurance $10,000 limits.  Another insurance company paid its $10,000 BI liability insurance limits.

I represented Henry.

Woman Gets $20,000 Settlement for Intersection Accident

Lisa (not real name) was in a car that was T-boned by another car at an intersection in Miami-Dade County, Florida.  The driver of the other car received a ticket for running the red light.

Lisa claimed that the accident caused or aggravated a herniated disc in her lower back.  She also claimed that the crash caused a small scar on her body.

Progressive paid the $10,000 BI liability insurance limits.  Another insurance company paid its $10,000 BI liability insurance limits.
