Motorcyclist Gets $445,000 Settlement for Accident in Miami

I recently settled a case for $445,000 for a motorcyclist who was hit by a truck in Hialeah, Miami-Dade County, Florida. The motorcyclist was hit by an 18- wheeler that made a left hand turn in front of the motorcyclist and, in doing so, violated the motorcycle rider’s right of way. The front of the truck struck the motorcycle and the motorcyclist fractured his knee (tibia) and his finger.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital where he had surgery performed on his finger and knee. The motorcyclist had a tibial plateau fracture. The insurance company for the truck was Chartis Insurance (Insurance Company for the State of PA). This case was settled before a lawsuit had to filed.

The child has back pain. Property damage to our client’s car was only about $200 dollars. The tortfeasor (at fault party) was insured with Progressive.
