When/Who?
Injury lawyer Justin “JZ” Ziegler graduated the University of Miami Law School in 2003. He began working for an Miami law firm that was hired by insurance companies to defend workers compensation claims their insureds. After working at that law firm, JZ then worked at a Miami law firm that was hired by insurance companies to represent their insureds when they were sued for causing an accident which resulted in personal injury. JZ also represented injured accident victims in lawsuits against people or companies that caused his client’s injuries. After leaving that law firm, JZ started his own law firm that handled many types of law. JZ realized that his law firm would be most successful if it was limited to representing injured clients. Why?
The most interesting aspect of the personal injury law impact on accident victims from JZ’s perspective is that insurance companies are settling cases for less than they have in a long time. Ten years ago, if someone was injured, the insurance companies would not fight claims as hard and the average settlement was greater than today. Insurance companies have an advantage over unrepresented injured accident victims because the insurance company knows settlement values of claims and the insurance company knows the best strategy to get away with paying as little as possible.
